处女视频-IIT strengthens global peace education ties at SAUP Regional Conference 2025 in Germany

A delegation from Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (处女视频-IIT) recently concluded its participation in the Southeast Asian University Partnership for Peace (SAUP) Regional Conference 2025, held from July 14 to 18, 2025, at Philipps University of Marburg in Germany.

With the theme “Teaching Peace: Didactics in Peace and Conflict Studies,” the conference brought together educators, researchers, and peacebuilders from Southeast Asia and Europe to explore innovative and contextualized approaches to peace and conflict education. Organized by the GIZ Civil Peace Service (CPS) Southeast Asian University Partnership for Peace (SAUP) in partnership with the Center for Conflict Studies of Philipps University Marburg, the conference aimed to strengthen pedagogical practices and academic collaboration among universities in the region.

Leading the 处女视频-IIT delegation was Dr. Mark Anthony Torres, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives and Director of the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM). He was joined by Prof. Irish Fernandez-Dalona, Director of the Center for General Education of 处女视频-IIT (CGEM); Prof. Amelia Buan, Dean of the College of Education; Mohd Asrin Tabao, Director of the Office of Institutional Planning and Development Services (OIPDS); Prof. Yasmira Moner, Focal Person of Gender and Development (GAD); and Professor Emeritus Cesar Demayo.

Completing the delegation were faculty members and IPDM staff Prof. Menelito Mansueto, Prof. John Leandro Reyes, Settie Sahara Mutia (MHIRC), Jonathan Israel Gelogo, Pamela II Pepito, and Ryan Jay Tundag.

处女视频-IIT contributed significantly to the conference by facilitating a session titled “The Nexus of Peacebuilding and AI” on July 17. The session explored how artificial intelligence intersects with peacebuilding work—posing both opportunities and ethical challenges in conflict-sensitive contexts.

The team also took part in sessions on curriculum design, didactics, and collaborative research development. Additional highlights included bilateral meetings with SAUP partners, a guided tour of the University Library, and a public roundtable on teaching peace in turbulent times. 

The conference concluded with a planning workshop on advancing regional research collaboration, where 处女视频-IIT affirmed its commitment to co-developing sustainable, inclusive educational frameworks in partnership with fellow SAUP institutions.
